We went down to Florida last week for our annual beach vacation. Our flight was at 6:00 so we had to be out of the house by 4:00a.m. As much as I tried to have everything ready to go, I forgot to get the sippy cups and bottle out of the dishwasher that morning to pack up. We took Andy's car to the airport, and when we got there, I held Atticus and Finley while he got the stroller out of the back. That is when we realized that we had left the stroller in my car at home. We didn't have time to go back so we just had to deal with it. The vacation wasn't bad, but we really missed it in the airports. Finley loved her new freedom and it was hard to contain her while holding Atticus.
We made it down at around 10:00, and it was a gorgeous a day. We got our car and ate at Shades for lunch. I wish we could have got our groceries, but it would be too long before we could get into our house so we went to Rosemary Beach and Caroline, Jared, Molly, and Allison met us there. We walked around for a bit and got a picture of Atticus with his street sign.

Vacation 2015
We then went down to Alys Beach, and let the kids play in the little splash park there.
Then is was off to our houses. We stayed in two houses this year that were called Blue Moon and Sandblast. I completely forgot to get a picture of ours, but I think it worked really well for us. There is a great bunk room on the very top floor that the boys slept in, and the girls were just a little bit jealous. Our house also had an elevator, and the kids thought that was the coolest. It actually came in handy for Andy and I since we were on the bottom floor. It was hard to carry Finley and Atticus up the five flights of stairs and opening/closing four doors along the way. It never failed that I would get to the top and forget something. I had planned on running while I was down there, but the stairs were enough of a workout.
Last elevator ride for these boys.
The biggest challenge that we had with two houses was this:
The kids would sneak out of one house and be off to the other with none of us knowing. Thankfully we were on a cul-de-sac.
Overall, the trip was great. We enjoyed watching the kids play on the beach together, Atticus got his first taste of dum dums and Frostbites, Atticus loved his naps on the beach, Briley and Baylor loved playing with the boogieboards, Finley went treasure hunting and found a pacifier in the sand, Lola and Finley just cracked me up the whole trip eating everyone's snacks, the bonfire that Allison and Andrew set up was so much fun, and really the highlight of the trip for us, Baylor falling asleep at the bonfire, I got my Grits a Yaya and Key lime pie fix, The Hub was a great new find, Atticus slept through the night every night of vacation, we aren't a fan of carpenter flies, the bunk room challenge was perfect, and I think we actually got home with all of our stuff because of it, the boys and their grocery store trip still makes me giggle, watching our neighbor work out at night was entertaining, the Full Moon on vacation was beautiful, Jared and his music, shark/stingray sighting was a first for us and I have never seen the water clearout so quickly, Finley, Charlotte, and Lola in their little pool, listening to Briley, Ellie, and Bella's conversations make me smile, all the little surprises that Grandma and Papa had up their sleeves throughout the trip, doctor kits, family picture success-thank you Lissy, Fireball, need I say more?
