Kanakuk 2016

We picked Briley up at camp on Friday, and she told us this year was better than last!  When you arrive at closing ceremonies, you walk down this hill to the soccer fields where all the kids are anxiously waiting for their parents.  As we were walking down I spotted Briley making a run for us with the biggest smile on her face.  After that the stories began, and they haven't stopped.  I love hearing all of these stories that will probably be some of her best memories of summer vacation.
This year's theme was, " I run in the way of your commands, for you have set my heart free." Psalm 119:32.  She was awarded the Pacesetter, The spark ribbon that is based off the verse, "Don't let anyone look down upon you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." 1Timothy 4:12.  Her qualities that she displayed throughout camp was amiable and self-starter.  They said she has a firm confidence rooted in the Lord.  she is always encouraging her friends and keeps everyone excited.  Briley was quick to jump into anything wholeheartedly and has an evident passion to love others well.
These first pictures were taken throughout camp. I couldn't wait until they were posted each day to see what she had been up to.
Briley tried new things this year like the slough, slounch, tower, rush, rings, the slide at the pool.  Her favorite party was Red, White, and Boom.  Her favorite food was coffee cake.  I'm so glad she tried new things!
The closing ceremonies were cut a little short due to a storm moving in.  We didn't get to see the camp video, but it will be posted tomorrow.  It was kind of a rush to get out to our car before the rain came down, and I think Briley was a little sad about leaving so quickly.  She loves camp so much, and although she is excited to see us, she really hates to say good-bye until next year.
