It's Beginning to Feel Like Fall

October has kicked off to be just as busy as September.   Andy has been busy traveling and always sends me pictures of his adventures along the way.  A few weeks ago he was in Tampa for a night, and got to go out to breakfast with Caroline and Emmie.

At home we have been playing a lot of soccer.  There is a sweet Mom on Baylor's team that takes pictures of all the kids and then sends you the pictures.  So much better than what I am capable of doing.
Two Fridays ago they had a grand opening for their new exhibit at Prairiefire.  I asked the kids if they wanted to go, and Briley was the only one.  The others wanted to play outside with Daddy.  Briley and I don't get as much one on one time like I do with others so she was excited to go see the Amazing Species Exhibit.  It was very cool, and I learned a few things.  It seemed that Briley knew a lot from watching Octonauts.;)  After we walked through the exhibit we went up to the discovery room to check out the snakes and reptiles.  She wanted her picture taken with Walter the bearded dragon.  They had a lot of animals you could touch, but Briley had no interest in touching snakes, starfish, or anything else for that matter.  She likes to look from a distance.
Finley went on her first field trip to the Pumpkin Patch at school.  Really she has been on this field trip every year of her life, but this year was extra special because she got to ride the bus.  If you ask her, I'm sure she will say that was the most exciting part.  We picked a pumpkin from the patch, meaning she grabbed the first one she saw.  We saw some little pigs that were just a week old along with goats, chickens, donkeys, and an alpaca.  We played on the playground, had a snack, and then Finley had to ride the bus back to the school.
On Friday I picked Baylor and Finley up at school to take them along with Atticus to the open gym at Blue Valley Rec.  I have never done that before, but it was a hit with all ages.  So many things to explore and climb.  Great activity for when it gets cold outside.
That night Allison and Ellie came to town and we went downtown to see the USA Olympic Gymnastics team tour.  We ate at BRGR before the show, and got to our seats shortly before it started.  I really didn't know what to expect from this show, but I was impressed.  I wish there would have been a few more women's gymnasts from this years' team, but overall it was very good. Aly Raisman and Simone Biles along with the men's team were there.  They also had some older gymnasts like Shawn Johnson, Nastia Lukin, Jordan Weiber, and Ashton Locklear.  Briley has now decided that she wants to be a gymnast.
