April Happenings

Two weekends ago my Dad came to stay with us to watch the kids while Andy and I went to the Catholic Charities Soiree downtown.  He came down a day early and we went shopping for a sports coat for him.  We found one that was on sale for 55.00 so it was a great deal.  Afterwards we stopped at Lewellyn's for lunch before getting back to pick up kids from school.  After Andy got home, we went downtown to check in to the hotel. Andy was getting dressed when he realized he had forgotten his black dress shoes.  We weren't going back so he wore a brown belt with it, and we hoped it was dark enough that people would think he was just wearing a navy blue suit.  Since we got down there a little early, we went to Hotel Phillips to their speakeasy in the basement called P.S. Speakeasy.  It was a fun little bar, and we had a couple of drinks before we went to the Power and Light Building.  This was the first time I had been in this building, and it was so cool.  A wedding would be beautiful here, and I am sure it has a nice price to go with it.
We ran into some friends when we got to the soiree, and of course Andy's cousin Lucy and Frank.  We had a lot of fun catching up with them, and always nice to run into some old friends.  Overall it was a wonderful night.
Finley and Atticus have started swimming lessons to get ready for the summer.  They are in the same class which helps a lot because Atticus isn't so hesitant if he has his big sister with him.  They are having a lot of fun.
Since softball and baseball are underway, we have been playing a lot of catch and t-ball when the weather is cooperating.  Atticus asks me at least once a day if we can go out to play catch.  I can't say no to that.  Briley has her first game tonight, and she is in love with her new uniform.  I'm excited to see how she does this year.
Baylor had his big musical at school called Bugz at the beginning of April.  He has been so excited about this performance.  He was the yellow jacket, and he nailed it;)  It was a cute little show, and he did such a great job singing and saying his lines.
Finley got her dance costume on Friday.  She is so excited for her recital although she complains that it chokes her.  it is a halter top, and she doesn't like it around her neck.
Baylor went to Rex's birthday party Friday night.  It was a swim party, and he had a great time.  Finley went with me to pick him up, and a storm had just came through.  Finley looked at the sky, and said it looked like God talking.  I had to get a picture of it so I would remember.  I always love Finley chats.

They had someone taking pictures, but I haven't gotten them yet, so this is as good as I could get from our seats.
