Happy Mother's Day and First Dance Recital

The school year is wrapping up and with that comes a lot of busy activities.  The kids had field day last Friday.  Andy took the day off to work on the yard, and so I signed up to set up for field day at 6:30a.m.  As we were setting up, storms looked to be coming our way, but our weather apps said no rain so we continued on until the downpour.  Luckily it was after we got everything ready, and it cleared up before the field day began.
Sunday was Mother's Day.  This day always begins with breakfast in bed, and then off to Church. That afternoon we picked up a tree at Suburban and Briley helped her dad plant it.  Baylor gave me a nice water feature on the retaining wall along with a flower, Finley painted my toenails for me, and Briley did a lot of planting.  Perfect day.
This past weekend was Finley's dance recital.  She was loving the make up, getting her hair done, and dancing on that stage.  She was so funny to watch.  She was very serious as she was up there, and didn't crack a smile as she was concentrating to hard.  She also kept trying to find us in the crowd, and that was really entertaining as she waved at people and then would realize it wasn't us.  She danced to "Tie a Yellow Ribbon" and  " I loved her first" with her daddy. Miss Jody seems to know how to pull at the heart strings and the daddy daughter dance definitely did it this year.
Atticus is so very obsessed with mowing our yard and everyone else's.  If he sees someone mowing he grabs his, and gets to work.  He loves helping Andy around the house, and he will tell him how they are working too hard.  He also has gotten an obsession with every dog that walks by. If he sees a dog he is out the sliding door and down the street before we have time to react.  He is a roamer right now, and Andy and I are really trying to figure out how to not lose him.  Child locks for all doors is happening soon along with maybe a gps tracker.  I have always said that three year olds are the hardest, and he has been our hardest three year old.

Quick nap before rehearsal

She loved watching the big girls and try to copy what they were doing.
