5th Grade Farewell and the Last Day of School

The last day of school the Friday before Memorial Day.  Briley's class met at the park for breakfast and pictures before walking on to school.  We then had a ceremony at 10:00 that was very sweet.  The kids sang "Don't Stop Believing" and one of the boys in her grade played the piano as they sang.  She has a very talented class musically, and he didn't miss a beat.  They then sang "A Million Dreams, and  "Home".  Home came out their Kindergarten year, and was part of her slideshow for kindergarten so it was cute that they would play it now.  The Bulldog Awards were handed out and this was the first year the class voted instead of the teachers.  The funny thing is the teachers said they would have picked the exact same two students.  Their principal and Stuco presidents each gave a speech, and then it was goodbye.  The other grades gathered in the halls to cheer them on as they made their way through the school one last time as a Bulldog.  It is truly hard to believe that she is done with elementary school after six years.  Seven more years and we will be doing this for her high school graduation.
After it was over we waited outside for Baylor, and then made our way back to the park for the 5th grade picnic.  As we walked over the teachers had all come out to line the street and wave to the kids as they left for summer.  All three had wonderful teachers this year, and I think they will miss being in their classes.
