First Day of School

Summer went so quickly this year, and it was different than years past.  We had a lot of fun, but also a lot more down time.  They spent more time with friends, and we have less of us all together with Briley working.   It is life, and I know they grow up, but it also makes me sad for all the days spent at parks, and our little outings around town every summer.

Briley is a Junior this year, and that blows my mind!  She is doing the CAPS program through Blue Valley so the first half of her day is wearing scrubs, and learning all about sports medicine.  She is getting 8 college credit hours for these courses which is great!  She has really enjoyed it so far, and it has made her really interested in doing something in the medical field.

Baylor is in 7th grade, and the year has started off well.  He really likes all of his teachers, and that is a plus from last year.  He also started cross country, and he seems to really like it.  Our house is full of runners.

Finley got the one teacher she was hoping not to have, but I think it will be ok.  She has almost all of her friends in her class, and that makes her happy.  She is also our people pleaser so I think she will get along fine with her teacher.

Atticus was also bummed that he did not get Finley's old teacher last year, but I think his teacher seems just as sweet.  He will do just fine, and he has a lot of friends in his class.

Praying that it all goes smoothly, and that God has put the right teachers and friends in their path to make it a wonderful year.

Two weekends ago was the KC Air show.  We took Briley when she was young, and we haven't been back since.  It seems there was always something during the show, and we couldn't make it.  This year we were free so we thought it might be fun to go.  The kids moaned and groaned because that is what they do when I tell them we are going on an outing, but we loaded them up anyway.  We parked in a Wal-Mart parking lot along with a lot of other people, and it was perfect.  The planes flew right over our heads, and even the teenager got kind of excited when he saw them.  It was super hot, but we got drinks, food, and sat in the shade.  We didn't stay for it all, but I think they had a lot of fun seeing the different planes.
