This was such a busy week in our household as Briley prepared for the beginning of school. We went to back to school night on Wednesday and she met her teacher. She seems very nice, and I think Briley is going to love being her in her class this year. On Thursday morning, I made a big breakfast and decorated the table for her big day. She was so surprised when she came down that morning.
We are used to getting up and out of the house by 6:40 every morning so it is going to be a little bit of an adjustment for us all since she does not have to be at school until 8:30. Andy will be taking her to school and Baylor and I will still leave at our normal time. Life is going to get crazy:)
Briley got dressed and I took a few pictures of her and then we were off. We took her to her class and got her all situated and then we left. She was excited and maybe a little nervous, but Miss Briley is pretty independent. She gave us each a hug and a kiss and she was off on her new adventure.
As I got to my school everyone asked me how I was and did I cry. I was perfectly fine. Yes, it is sad that she is growing up, and I know this is the first of many milestones in her life, but she is ready and I am excited for her. She is going to have so much fun, and I can't be sad about that.
I picked her up after school and couldn't wait to hear how her day was, but of course Briley didn't give me much other than it was good and her teacher is nice. I was happy when I got this email later that day from her teacher,
"Hi! I wanted you to know Briley had a great first day! She played with a variety of kids, paid attention during group activities, and showed enthusiasm for what we did today -- all the things we like to see in school! A great start!"

Be a Fruit Loop in a World Full of Cheerios
Last weekend we went to the Midwest Balloon Festival.
Baylor getting into the water table in his clothes:)
Last but not least, after waiting all summer, our furniture has arrived! Now I hope the kids will keep it clean.
